By adhering to the Belgian Alliance for Climate Action, you commit to act on climate change by signing the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) commitment letter within the first 12 months after joining. This means that, in the subsequent 24 months, you must set “science-based” targets to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that are in line with what the latest climate science says is necessary to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement—to limit global warming to well-below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and pursue efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C.
