BACA Year 1 Agenda

As illustrated in the below visual, we will host an event about every three months, on a topic in line with the guiding theme of that quarter. These guiding themes are aligned with the 5 Steps of the journey that each organization goes through when engaging with Science Based Targets or any sustainability agenda in general: Educate & Contextualize, Make the Business Case, Calculate Footprint, Set Targets, and Implement Solutions. As of 2022, we will also specifically address the challenges related to Scope 3 emissions and cover topics related to the onboarding of your supply chain partners.

Next to these so called ‘anchor’ events, which will be organized by The Shift & WWF, we invite our members to take the lead in organizing workshops that deep-dive into a specific topic (such as, for example: sustainable finance, going from the 2° to 1,5°C ambition, how to communicate the SBT journey to your stakeholders etc.) or setting up sector specific round tables (e.g. dedicated to the financial, construction, agriculture, transport sectors etc.).

The BACA team will of course still coordinate these more informal events, but we hope to see many members proactively bringing topics to the table and connecting with other interested members to drive this agenda forward. Therefore, don’t hesitate to reach out via baca@theshift.be in case you would like to host a specific session on a topic that might be interesting for some other members of the Alliance too.
